There are always ways to make more money. Even if your boss can’t give you a raise, there are ways outside of your 9 to 5 to make money.
You just need to get creative, think about what you love or are good at, and what people want. Thinking outside the box could turn you onto a lucrative side hustle, and who knows, one day it may turn into your full-time income! The key thing here is to be open to trying something new.
Here are my favorite ways to earn more money.
Start a Freelancing Gig
Think about what you’re good at doing. Writing, website design, voice-overs, and proofreading are all great gigs. Millions of freelancers offer these services on sites like Fiverr and Upwork and make a good living doing it. If you have a marketable skill, consider joining one of these platforms.
Drive People or Food
If you love driving, why not make money doing it? Driving for Uber or Lyft can bring in decent side cash. You decide when you want to work and what routes you want to pick up. In other words, you’re completely in charge of what you make. You just need a reliable car and a valid driver’s license.
If you’d rather not drive people, consider delivering food. Door Dash, Uber Eats, and Instacart are all great ways to deliver food and make money. Door Dash and Uber Eats drivers deliver restaurant food and Instacart shoppers grocery shop for buyers and deliver the groceries to their doorstep.
Watch Pets or Kids
Pet sitting or babysitting are both great gigs. You choose when you work and how much you make. You can walk dogs, watch them at your house, or their house. You can even board pets when their parents go on vacation.
Babysitting is a service you can provide on nights and weekends, or even during the day if your ‘regular job’ is at night. Parents today are looking for as much help as they can get with kids home e-learning and parents trying to work too.
Tutor Kids
If you have a teaching degree or even a Bachelor’s degree but can help kids with a specific subject, offer tutoring services. You can offer them on your own, advertising on social media in your local area or use a service, such as VIPKid (tutoring children in China) or Tutor.com to tutor kids in the United States.
Rent out your Spare Room or Areas
If you have ‘extra’ room in your home, rent it out. People pay to rent garage space, basement space, or a bedroom. If you have an extra apartment in your basement, you could even offer an entire apartment. You set and collect the rent, making the money off space you already own.
